Why SHOULD I visit Bulgaria?
Bulgaria is a beautiful country and extremely good value as a holiday destination. In many ways it is like going back in time 50 years, especially as you watch villagers going about their daily lives - most have a subsistence lifestyle and grow their own produce and look after their own animals, generally a cow, pig, goat, horse and maybe 1 or 2 dogs per household. However the tourist infrastructure is fast improving and the Bulgarians are starting to realise that we like good toilets, and roads without potholes in them!
Why SHOULD I book with you?
We offer a very special holiday experience. We are in a typical Bulgarian village, yet only 15/20 minutes from Borovets for your ski-ing, and at the start of trails for many walking experiences for old and young alike, steep and easy! Central for many other activities as well. We will organise as much of your holiday as you would like us to (except the flights), we can collect you from the airport, take you to the ski slopes, drop you where you would like to walk from, arrange a guide for walking and FEED YOU VERY WELL!
In our accommodation we give you as many home comforts as we can, your enjoyment of your holiday being the most important thing for us.
What are the Bulgarians like?
In general the Bulgarians are very friendly people and like to have British people enjoying their country. With very few exceptions we have found them to be very helpful and patient, having lived here for three years I can truly testify to their hospitable nature.

What is Borovets like, as a ski resort/summer destination?
As a ski resort Borovets offers a variety of runs, catering extremely well for beginners and intermediate skiers. It is friendly and easy to use. The forested nature of the mountains also means that it is very picturesque, with the ski runs and walking trails cutting through the trees.
The views from the very top, accessible by Gondola, are truly breathtaking on a clear day and in the summer you may walk here, but you are also able to bring a mountain bike to the top!
Will we be able to keep the children occupied for a whole week in the summer?
We have two children, and never find that we have a shortage of options. The river itself provides hours of fun for most, but there are indoor and outdoor swimming pools and at Borovets there is a ten pin bowling facility.
We can offer your children the opportunity to learn about lighting fires (safely!) and building shelters, crossing rivers and really enjoying an outdoor lifestyle - get them to leave those computer games behind for a few hours!
What is the summer weather like?
As we all know, it is difficult to guarantee the weather, but we normally have a long hot summer up in the mountains 27-32 degrees celsius most of the time. It is extremely pleasant for walking through the shaded forest and sitting out for meals and using the local, recently upgraded outside swimming pools.

Which currency does Bulgaria use?
The Bulgarians use Levs which are made up of 100 stotinkis, there are just under 2.5 levs to the British pound. You can get Levs from UK banks, although you will probably have to order them. Some tourist prices here are quoted in Euros but it is better for you to bring Levs with you - there is a fixed exchange rate between Euros and Levs, 1 Euro = 1.95 Levs.
